Our Work After Grace Gift

         Even as true as it is that our salvation work is hinged on Grace and not our Works, yet after Salvation has been brought to us, we need to make conscious effort in keeping it. Remember Salvation is a gift brought to us by Grace. It belongs to us as long as we keep it ours, but the moment we discard it,  we cease to lay claim on it. 

         1Corinthians 10:1-5 gives a throwback of a people who had experienced a level of Grace though  in the Old Testament. (Remember most times we define Grace as God’s Unmerited favor). They were saved (Verse 1), Baptized (Verse 2), Feeding on the Bread from heaven (Verse 3) and they drank from the Springs of living water [Jesus Christ] (Verse 4). Yet,  a paradox of what should be expected is recorded in the next verse (Verse 5)….. But God was not pleased with them…  WHY??? Cos they were only professing Grace but where aliens to the Work Of Grace (Verse 6-10). 

Paul the Apostle then recommended a remedy in Verse 12…. take heed lest you fall…  WAIT!!!  Does it mean I can fall after receiving the Grace Gift?  YES…  (Hebrews 12:15 check it out).

         So then, how can one preserve this gift from slipping off so Eternal life could be assured? (Jude vs 21….”Keep yourself….. “). This is our Work after receiving the Gift. Furthermore, (1Thessalonians 5:22 admonishes “Abstain from all appearance of Evil). It’s our responsibility not God’s. It’s when we are conscious of preserving this gift that we will receive heavenly backing to hold on to the end. (Jude vs 24).
